People Making a Change

Extreme Makeover Home Edition

A family that has faced hardship has their dilapidated house completely rebuilt while they are away on vacation for a week. While early episodes renovated houses, the usual approach is to tear down the house on the first day and build a brand new, usually much larger, one, fully furnished. The houses are customized to the families, with rooms reflecting the interests of, especially, the children, and special technology for any unusual medical conditions. Host Ty Pennington usually has a "secret" project which is only revealed when the family sees it. The construction is accomplished with the help of a large army of blue-shirted volunteers and a wide array of sponsor-donated products and services. The writer of this TV show is Pam Suchman.
I love this show because it brings me the opportunity to look at something happy, something that people, like these ones, makes to help other ones in need. It is really hard to find that help, that service, in a place near you because in the world we are now nobody likes to help, even family to family. It makes me cry because it is very sentimental and very true those people in need. I wish I could make a change by helping them build their houses. Would you help too?

Nickelodeon's Big Help

I was at Nick.com today since I was watching Victorious and a commercial about "The Nick's Big Help" that I heard before but this time got my attention.  I signed up and entered and went staright to the messages board after I step into the "the big help clubhouse". There were a lot of topics from shows to music and one particular about "the big help". It really impressed me because they were a lot of kids having fun writong topics about the planet and how they help it. But one certain person named "NickFrog" had 1302 responses from people after he posted his topic about "Helping in your community? We want to hear from you".

I read it and, well, 1302 answers is a little bit tuff for one day, but I pickes the best 10 responses to this questions and here they are.

I had picked up trash the was by are community pond.
What i had done was i got on a pare of gloves and picked up the trash that was in the water so the  turtles, frogs, fish, and tagpoles dont eat what was i the water. If we didn't have the pond in my community we wouldn't have the  turtles, frogs, fish, and the tagpoles.

Me and my friends put up boxes around my school so people can put stuff like shampoo/conditioner, tooth stuff, hair stuff, and body stuff to go to nicaragua because 7th graders usually go to ncaragua for a service learning trip ad we wanted to give the orphanage something to clean themselves with while other people give them school stuff

Once in a while our community needs cleaning up and repairs. To do this our organization sets up a sign-up sheet for volunteers and we plan how and where we clean up. There are over 30 lbs. of trash and landfill cleaned up and recycled. Also our park needed new equipment and sanitizing stations for the children so we called up a couple of business owners and they gladly agreed to donate the equipment. Thanks to everyone who volunteered, our community never looked better! We appreciate your support to all who participated

Sent letters to kids that are hurt.

A conclusion about this is that many of these people are taking care of the planet by different ways. But they are taking the “big help” way in a way of helping other instead of helping the planet. And that’s a good start, helping first the humans to have more people to then help and save the Earth from all the things human being causes and damages.

It turns out that l learned from this cyber friends and organization to help the planet by making first a difference with us which is my statement “you have to be the change if you want to see the world a better place. I can, I care, I change”
